2003 Fall Camping Trip to Southwest Montana
By Phil Sauer
The first week I spent in the Gravelly Mountains camping at
I road my Honda 90 all over the many trails and roads.
The weather was sunny and warm every day with very cool nights.
Each evening I converted my pickup into a cozy camper
The second week I headed over to Yellowstone National Park.
The cool mornings made the thermal pools even better.
The evenings are some of the best part of a fall camp. Often
I sat by the fire reading and listening to coyotes.
One night the elk bugled all night right near my camp.
The last part of my stay I headed back to the good old Tenderfoot
in the Little Belt Mountains.
There the fall colors were at their finest.
